How Coaching Works
Coaching is a collaborative partnership that supports clarity, responsibility, and intentional action by creating space for reflection and insight — not by offering advice or solutions.
Ongoing Coaching
Most clients work with me in an ongoing coaching relationship, committing to 6-12 sessions over the course of 3-6 months at a time. The work is exploratory and adaptive, supporting goals that you identify, as well as your leadership development, decision-making, and long-term growth as a human and as a leader.
In our work together, we may explore:
Leadership decisions and transitions
Values, purpose, and meaning
Patterns such as urgency, control, or perfectionism
How responsibility shows up under pressure
Alignment between who you are and how you lead.
Specialized Coaching
I can also provide support on big projects that have meaning to you — like writing a book, building an organization, or advancing a strategic plan. This type of coaching creates a structured, humane container — offering support without control — that helps you stay engaged with the work and oriented toward purpose over the period of time that best serves you.
I also offer coaching to help you create a values-aligned giving or philanthropic strategy. This coaching focuses on identifying values, goals, and desired impact — and making intentional choices about where and how to direct resources in ways that feel most aligned. This type of coaching tends to be shorter in duration.
For these specialized coaching engagements, we work together to:
Clarify why the project matters
Identify patterns and ways of thinking that interfere with momentum or clarity
Make realistic, values-aligned commitments
Reflect honestly and adjust with integrity.
Coaching is not therapy, consulting, or project management. What coaching offers instead is a space for honesty, responsibility, and choice — where accountability is grounded in your own values, integrity, and your wildest dreams for your life.
Who I Work With
I work with people who care about the impact of their work and their lives.
My clients often include:
Mid-career professionals in transition
Policy professionals and advocates navigating complex systems, long timelines, and high-stakes decisions
Executives and nonprofit leaders carrying responsibility for people, missions, and outcomes
Working parents and caregivers balancing leadership roles with real-world demands
Values-driven professionals seeking greater alignment between what they do and what they stand for.
Most clients come to coaching not because something is broken, but because something feels misaligned, or they’re ready to accelerate their impact or take their work to the next level.
You may recognize yourself here if:
You feel a strong sense of responsibility or longing, along with internal pressure or fatigue
You care about impact and integrity, not just performance
You want space to think clearly and honestly, without posturing or pretense
You’re open to examining patterns rather than solving surface problems.
